Customer Review: great cookware---can't recommend highly enough
I bought the Calphalon simply stainless cookware 12 piece set (not offered any more?) and a couple extra open stock pieces over two years ago. It arrived within days with no shipping charge. This is the greatest cookware set I've ever owned. Sticking food is NOT a problem, and the cookware maintains a lovely appearance with really no special care. All the saucepans are stainless, but the 8- and 10-inch fry pans have a non-stick finish. The glass lids were a requirement, and I wouldn't ever go back to metal lids again. I would recommend this set, this line, to anyone who wants a nice-looking, nice-functioning cookware set that can go into the dishwasher. I would definitely buy this again, but I think this set will work well for years and years.

I saved for four months to purchase this set and was not disappointed in its performance. My only wish is that the 12-piece set which included the 4 quart sauce pan was still offered.
I have been cooking for many years and have used a variety of kitchenware. Recently I tried some a new kind that is not only very affordable but does and outstanding job. The only difficult thing with them is that you can not use a dishwasher to clean. Just soap and hot water should get the trick done. In addition you must wait until the pans are cool before attempting to clean them. Cleaning them while they are hot can ruin the finish, so wait until they cool down. At first I thought this was going to be a real problem, but the surface on the Caphalon pans is so well designed that they literally take seconds to clean. I know it may seem to be a chore to hand clean these, but think of all the room you will save in your dishwasher. In fact because of this you probably will end up actually saving time.
The best thing about these pans is how little oil it takes to cook in them. This not only helps to keep your diet low fat, but keeps your kitchen appliances clean as well. I have never been able to cook an egg as well as I can with my Caphalon pans. Eggs come out absolutely perfect every time.
If you still are convinced enough to even take a look at a Caphalon set, the last point is how relatively inexpensive they are. You can get a full set of ten pans for a couple hundred dollars. While this is not cheap if taken care of this should be the last set of pots and pans you will ever need. Hopefully you take my advice and take a look at a set today.
